Don has been a shareholder with Schneider Downs & Co., Inc. since 1985. He has broad expertise in estate and business succession planning, tax planning for closely held corporations and S corporations, mergers and acquisitions, real estate and partnership taxation. As managing partner Don oversees the Personal Financial Services practice, and in addition to building and maintaining client relationships, Don is involved in investment research and development of new cutting edge strategies.

 

Don is a frequent contributor to business and tax publications, and is often interviewed by trade and national media on topics related to his expertise. He has served as a keynote speaker for many organizations, including  the Allegheny Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants and SMC Business Councils. In addition, Don is the Chairman of Schneider Downs’ Specialty Tax Group and the CEO of Schneider Downs Corporate Finance, LP.

 

Don holds the Series 7, Series 66 and Series 24 Securities licenses, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM Practictioner. He is a member of the Allegheny County Regional Asset Board (RAD) and a Life Member of the Board of Trustees, Manchester Bidwell Corporation. He received his Juris Doctorate from Nova University Center for the Study of Law, his Master of Laws-Taxation from George Washington University National Law Center and his B.A. degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
